The English part

Reading & writing

Practice the official USCIS words and sentences you must read and write in English.

These are the official questions USCIS chooses from—not sample questions. Any question on the list may be asked. For the standard test, the officer asks up to 20; you need 12 correct answers to pass.

“2025” is the test version, not your interview year. It applies to applications filed on or after October 20, 2025. Earlier applications use a different list. Applicants age 65 or older with at least 20 years as a permanent resident have a shorter test; this app’s interview practice uses the standard format.
